Tick tick tick tock.. the time on the clock is slowly creeping by . Time, it has a way of moving slowly with your eyes open but once they are closed it goes by in an instant. A sleep less night waving goodbye to twenty with Jessica and Wyatt. Then a heart warming conversation with Trevor. He gave me some of the best advice. It’s a good feeling when people let you know that they are proud of you. Especially people you look up too. The past year I have really enjoyed hanging out with Trev and his wife Suzanne and getting to know them. After a long talk we headed to bed and I hoped sleep would come but it didn’t.
Have you ever been in a crowded room and had your head phones on and it was just like the perfect song came on to fit the mood? Sitting in Will Rodgers my perfect music video hit the charts at 5 am. Looking basic in my boots leggings and over sized hoodie with a pumpkin spice latte made with steam milk . I knew I was on the right path. Houston was a hot mess. I was originally supposed to drive but my mom bought me a plane ticket. I flew in early and caught a Taxi to the Spanish Consulate. I sat there for what seemed like forever. I made new friends. One girl named Courtney from Arkansas and one boy named Aaron from Tulsa. When my name was finally called some of my paper work wasn’t right. I freaked out a little. I had to get brand new insurance and a new envelope because mine wasn’t good enough. Thinking on my toes I called a Uber and rushed to fed ex (18 miles from the consulate) just to find out they don’t have a flat rate boxes and they don’t have a printer you can use. On the way to get to my Uber I ran into Aaron. He was in the same boat so he jumped in my Uber with me. In Houston the rule of everything is bigger in Texas applies which also means everything is further away. I am so thankful I decided to fly and got to everything early! Once we got the bad news FedEx didn’t have what we needed he told me he was about to miss his flight. so I told him to give me his info and I would get his envelope taken care of for him. “Tapas on him in Madrid.” Felipe my Uber then drove me to UPS (9miles from FedEx) where they had a flat rate box but no printer. Okay I got the envelope! So next on to print my insurance papers. I get back in the car and go to the local library, Where I was greeted by a guy sitting next to me talking about killing brothers and hoes. I made that a really quick trip. The library was very sketchy. I then rushed back to turn my papers in at the consulate. They close their doors for siesta at 1 and don’t open again for the rest of the day. So I had to slide my hard work and $100+ of cab and Uber money under the door. I Then rushed all the way back to Houston Hobby to head home. I made my flight but still had so much to do the next day. I stopped dropped and rolled at Maddy’s for the night, then ran and got the rest of my paper work done the next day. It was a nightmare and a train wreck but I got it done. Hopefully all the trouble I went through my Visa will be processed in time.
